Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect at all times.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and mobility.
  • Observe and report any changes in client's physical or emotional condition to the supervising healthcare professional promptly.
  • Support clients in engaging with social activities and community participation to promote their well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided, adhering to data protection policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to deliver holistic care.
  • Uphold Connect2swindon's values around equality, diversity, and inclusion in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check clearance.
  • Experience or training in care support roles is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
  • A compassionate nature and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
  • Awareness and understanding of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals.

Day-to-Day

A typical day as a Care Assistant at OK4U may include:

  • Greeting clients warmly and assisting them with morning routines.
  • Supporting clients with personal hygiene and medication reminders.
  • Engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote independence and confidence.
  • Monitoring well being throughout the day and liaising with healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Documenting care tasks and any changes in client needs with attention to confidentiality.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure a seamless and supportive care experience.
