Today, we speak to Emma, our Business Manager…
1. Tell us about your working background
In the adult world of employment, I have spent my entire career in recruitment, so around 25 years (eek!). Starting with a small independent medical agency for 2 years and then moving into a larger organisation focusing on Social Care, Medical and Allied Health, predominantly within Local Authorities and the NHS. I have always been focusing on temporary recruitment.
2. What is your role at Connect2Swindon?
I am the Business Manager at Connect2Swindon, leading my team to fill agency roles, build strong client relationships, and ensure we deliver the best possible service to both clients and candidates.
3. What do you like about working in recruitment?
I enjoy recruitment because I like speaking with new people, building relationships, and helping candidates find new career opportunities. As a manager, I also enjoy supporting my team and helping them succeed.
4. What are you most looking forward to about your new role?
I'm most looking forward to growing Connect2Swindon, supporting my team's development, and building strong relationships with clients and candidates while helping people find the right opportunities.
5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Spare time is taken up with family, a blended family of 5, plus 2dogs and a cat!
For relaxation, I play hockey for Salisbury Hockey Club, and I am the Ladies 2’s goalkeeper, often referred to as a foam lunatic!!
6. Any top tips for jobseekers?
My top tip for jobseekers is to be proactive and keep an open mind. Make sure your CV is up to date, communicate clearly with recruiters, and don't be afraid to consider opportunities that could help you develop new skills and progress your career.
